Outside of buying a home, there is probably no purchase that intimidates us more than a car.

A car is among the most expensive items we will ever buy, so we want to choose the right model. Unfortunately, that’s not always how it works out.

Recently, Consumer Reports surveyed its members to ask them how satisfied they were with their vehicles. Specifically, they were asked whether they would buy the same car again.

Following are the cars that a majority of survey respondents said they would not buy again.

8. Nissan Kicks

Owners who said they would buy this car again if given the chance: 49%

The Nissan Kicks is a subcompact crossover SUV that starts around $20,000 and features 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels.

It also includes the Nissan Safety Shield 360, which helps monitor everything in front of, behind and to the sides of the vehicle.

6. Volkswagen Taos (tie)

Owners who said they would buy this car again if given the chance: 48%

The Volkswagen Taos is another compact SUV. It retails beginning around $24,000 and features 4MOTION all-wheel drive.

The Taos also comes with a touchscreen display.

6. Kia Seltos (tie)

Owners who said they would buy this car again if given the chance: 48%

The Kia Seltos is an SUV that starts around $27,000 and comes with touchscreen display and SiriusXM satellite radio.

You can also get exclusive Nightfall Edition roof rack rails, grille, door garnish and 18-inch alloy wheels.

5. Jeep Compass

Owners who said they would buy this car again if given the chance: 46%

The Jeep Compass is an SUV that begins at a retail price about $27,000. The newest model is loaded with “the latest in available intuitive technology,” according to Jeep.

The Compass also features more safety and security technology than earlier versions of the SUV.

4. Mercedes-Benz GLA

Owners who said they would buy this car again if given the chance: 45%

The Mercedes-Benz GLA is the carmaker’s smallest SUV and has a starting price of $37,500.

It comes standard with a digital cockpit and MBUX voice assistant.

3. Infiniti QX50

Owners who said they would buy this car again if given the chance: 40%

The Infiniti QX50 is a luxury crossover SUV that starts at a price point of about $40,000.

Infiniti touts its “sculpted lines, swooping curves and a wide, dynamic stance.”

2. Mercedes-Benz GLB

Owners who said they would buy this car again if given the chance: 39%

The Mercedes-Benz GLB is a compact SUV that starts around $40,000.

It seats up to seven people and comes with standard dual 7-inch or available 10.25-inch screens.

1. Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport

The Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport starts around $34,000.

It is available with IQ.DRIVE driver assistance technology that is intended to make the vehicle safer.
