The Unstoppable Female Spirit: Lisa Vrancken’s Book BE…Encourages Female Entrepreneurs to Take Risks in Business

Must read

From a young age, most women aren’t encouraged to take risks, make mistakes or step outside our defined roles. Lisa Vrancken believes when we finally realize we have the power to choose our own direction, we live our lives with confidence and certainty.

If you’re a woman in business you have likely been expected to conform to the norm to be successful. However, Vrancken doesn’t agree.

Lisa Vrancken, is an award-winning TV producer and #1 bestselling author, podcast host, media coach and business mentor. Vrancken references, “In 1809, Mary Dixon Kies became the first woman to receive a patent in the United States for weaving straw with silk and thread, saving the struggling New England hat-making industry. Madam CJ Walker in 1913, invented a line of hair care products that transformed the lives of thousands of African American women and was recorded as the first female self-made millionaire in America. Later, in 2021, Sara Blakely founded the shapewear brand Spanx and appeared on the cover of Forbes Magazine as the youngest self-made female billionaire in the world. These courageous ladies chose not to conform.”

Though we haven’t learned about these women and other remarkable female innovators in history books, these women had a tenacity, a dedicated force of will, and a burning desire to make change for the better. They paved the way, and the BE book encourages us that we can too. “It’s time for us to carry the torch and be willing to take the risks necessary for success,” shares Vrancken.

Mary Dixon, Madam C.J. Walker and the other countless female entrepreneurs who followed in their footsteps, tirelessly advocated for their ideas. They overcame paralyzing moments of fear and self-doubt during eras with more hardships than we can imagine. But they were undaunted. Buttressed by the exhilaration and freedom that comes from believing in their own passion and purpose, each inventor in her own way changed the face of what is possible today.

Vrancken says, “We’re at the precipice of an explosion, with female founders launching and scaling product-based businesses with more opportunities than ever before. BOOM.

We’re stoked by the growing number of women saying goodbye to traditional workplaces and embracing the journey of entrepreneurship. Today, women make up 40 percent of all entrepreneurs worldwide, and the number is rising every day.

One of the most exciting aspects of this unprecedented wave of female entrepreneurship is that it includes all women. Of the nearly thirteen million female-owned businesses in the U.S. today, roughly half were founded by women of color. Black, Hispanic, and Asian women are leading the charge as they continue to form new business at astonishing rates, their numbers growing twice as fast over the last five years than any other entrepreneurial category.

“The trail has been blazed and now, we need to lead the way for others. By raising our collective voices and bringing our ideas to life, we’re able to create a new playbook for what it means to be a woman in business,” Vrancken explains.

There are different reasons why women step into the entrepreneurial journey–some of the most common are that we’re drawn to the idea of being our own boss, of building and accumulating wealth or simply to make a difference in the world. We hear the call to lead a more purposeful life, and we choose to live in the present instead of the past. Women are no longer waiting for the proverbial “right time” to start a business.

The BE…book encourages this sisterhood of entrepreneurship committed to breathing life into their ideas and taking the quantum leap. More than at any point in history, the burning desire has finally been met with boundless opportunity. The time for female entrepreneurship is now

Vrancken believes, “Entrepreneurship is about taking your future into your own hands, like the many pioneering women who came before us. Don’t fear failure or be intimidated. Instead, use it as a catalyst. Recognize your talents, follow your passion, and turn your dreams into reality.”
